Alicia Hansen - Soprano
![]() |
As a musician, Alicia Hansen wears many different hats. At different times she likes to call herself a jazz pianist, classical soprano, composer, bandmate, teacher, and student. She is most at home performing her own songs, which reflect her diverse influences and experiences in both classical and contemporary realms. Alicia has an ARCT in both piano and voice; she is currently working towards a degree in jazz piano/composition at VCC, studying piano with Sharon Minemoto, composition with Alan Matheson, and improvisation with Francois Houle. Outside of school, she studies piano with Bob Murphy and voice with Nikolai Kolesnikov, and is a dedicated student of the Alexander Technique. She sings professionally with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, sings in a vocal quartet, and plays in several ensembles, including a Fusion and Latin Jazz group, and a band that plays her original material. She is involved in several musical collaborations for film, teaches piano and voice to young children, and spends her free time writing songs and being outside.
