Cameron Haney - Bass
![]() |
Growing up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Cameron began singing
at the age of five in a church choir and has sung in choirs
ever since. After moving to Vancouver in the early 1960s,
he continued to sing in choirs and, in 1968, he and his singing
brothers became founding members of the British Columbia Boys
Choir. He went on to attend the University of British Columbia,
participating in The University Singers, taking cello lessons,
and directing and singing in church choirs, while pursuing
his interest in Music History at UBC.
Cameron joined the Vancouver Chamber Choir in the fall of 1979 and, since then, has sung in every concert, recording, and tour. Aside from his full-time singing duties in the VCC, he occasionally contributes articles to the Choir's newsletter, VoiceMail. Having almost no sense of direction, Cameron's most vivid memories with the choir involve getting lost and then getting un-lost. He has been lost in Helsinki, Moscow, Rouen, Prague, Shanghai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Vilnius, Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Chicago, Mexico City, and Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He is to be found in the basses, third from the end. |
