Kathleen Allan soprano A native of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Kathleen Allan is a composer and singer who now resides in Vancouver, BC. Her compositions range from intimate songs to larger works for choir and instrumental ensemble. Her choral works can be found in the catalogues of Alliance Music Publications, Inc., Houston, TX, and Cypress Choral Music Publishing, Vancouver, BC.

Kathleen is also active as a choral and solo vocalist. In March 2010, she toured with the Vancouver Chamber Choir under the direction of Jon Washburn, and is proud to have joined the soprano section. She enjoys performing regularly in premieres of new vocal works by Canadian composers, and as the soprano soloist at Ryerson United Church. In 2007, she sang the lead role of Ann in the premiere North American tour of Stephen Hatfield’s chamber opera, Ann and Séamus. She is currently enrolled at the University of British Columbia studying composition under Stephen Chatman and Dorothy Chang, and voice under former Vancouver Chamber Choir singer Marisa Gaetanne.
