Born in Romania (Timisoara), Sorin loved singing and playing piano since he was a child. He graduated from West University, Faculty of Music (Romania), with a degree in voice performance. Sorin has been opera soloist at Timisoara Opera House and Brasov Opera House, with which he made tours and performed in European countries (Germany, Austria, Holland). He sang the roles of Figaro in "Barbiere di Sevilla"; Il Conte in "La Noze di Figaro"; Silvio in Il Paglliaci; Marcello in "Boema". At the same time, the choral music was vividly present in his musical life singing in Banatul Philarmonic Choir (Romania) and Ion Vidu Chamber Choir (Lugoj, Romania).
Sorin first heard the Vancouver Chamber Choir performance live in November 2004, in Vancouver. He later participated at the National Conductor Symposium, in February 2005, singing with Vancouver Chamber Choir, as a chorus singer. At the same time , Sorin taught voice lessons at Mozart School of Music (Burnaby), Salina Cheng Academy (Coquitlam), Royal Oak Academy (Burnaby). Sorin joined the Vancouver Chamber Choir full-time in fall of 2005. |
