William K. Vermeulen - Bass

Bill was born in Abbotsford, British Columbia, and studied voice at the University of British Columbia where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree. Bill joined the Vancouver Chamber Choir full-time in 1984 and, to this day, still considers himself very fortunate to have the luxury of singing and rehearsing with his talented counterparts during the daytime while most other people are "at work." Aside from his singing role with the Choir, Bill was the Singers' Representative on the VCC Board for eight years. He is currently an active Member of the Choir's Board of Directors. Bill has performed as a solo vocalist with a number of groups throughout British Columbia including CBC Radio Orchestra, Victoria Symphony, Prince George Symphony, and Palm Court Orchestra. He served for four years on the Voice Faculty at Trinity Western University. The Choir's tour of China in 1987 was an unforgettable life experience for Bill. He loved meeting the interesting and enthusiastic people of the PRC and having a glimpse of an entirely different way of life, all within the context of choral music as an international medium of communication. |
